Wrote this so it would stop asking every time I quit the game. Yes I like it, now leave me alone.
These adventure games (25th and JR) are very faithful to what the series was all about. Going to planets and solving problems with a little bit of space combat. All the crew is voiced by the original cast and the sound and graphics are faithful to the series. The space combat is a little arcady, but I am ok with that for this game. What I am really after is the exploration and interactions with the crew. I can't recommend these two games enough if you are a fan of the original series!!

I LOVED this game. It had great music and great graphics for the time. The ship combat was great and I loved building up my resources, getting a bigger ship and just sailing around. I wish there was more "life" on board you ship, but that was not a big deal. The hand to hand combat is a little clunky, but I liked it well enough. This was a GREAT pirate RPG. I would really like to see some new version of this that was like Black Flag but more RPG like Sea Dogs.
The space combat portions of WC5 were the best yet. (Other than Cap ships never exploding all the way... Don't know why that always bothered me). However, the FMV sequences and story fell short of the previous titles. I would say that WC2 also had a better story. Maybe I was just used to battling Kilrathi, but the new enemy and story just seemed bland, boring and derived to me. Great game to pick up for the action and for the continuation of the universe though!
Great atmosphere! Really makes you feel like you are underwater. Amazing graphics for the time and still holds up well enough. Undercurrents mag is a great read. Very unique game, definitely worth trying. Only downside for me was that I found the game difficulty to be very high. So glad that it is on here now so that we can have a support community to get through the missions.
WC IV was an amazing game for the time, and still holds up well against modern space combat games. Great story and music. FMV on DVD version is fantastic, and gameplay is still a blast!! EPIC!!!
Sometimes it just blows my mind what we used to be able to do with DOS. I almost flunked a semester of college because of this game. I was so wrapped up in the story that I just had to keep playing “one more mission”. Great story, great sound and great gameplay. It may be a bit dated, but the story will keep you going through the end. Great game, and revolutionary for its day.
