The puzzles are way better than in episode 1 (no more moon logic). Normally I am not a fan of action segments in adventure games but the controls, difficulty and frequency of the sequences are good enough that it wasn't annoying. The overall graphical style supports the gameplay and fits with the setting. My Playtime was around 6 hours and I'm looking forward to the last episode of the trillogy. I've you liked The Fall than you should buy and play this game.
If you like the old 3d shooters with less story and simplified gameplay, you can't go wrong with purchasing Painkiller. Lots of weapons, enemies and great level variety combined with excellent graphics makes it a must buy for every Doom or Blood fan. The best Part is that the Black Edition contains the "Battle out of Hell" expansion pack which adds about 8 hours of gameplay to the 12 hour long Painkiller campain.
