My favorite games were Build Engine games, and this is a pretty strong successor to the legendary likes of Duke3d and Shadow Warrior. I feel like the aiming on all axis didn't translate into this one as well as it did in stuff like Brutal Doom, but its still very good. The game will help you with distant shots but you really want to experience a build engine game by charging right in. It has lots of the nice little quirks in the environment you can interact with (FLUSH THE TOILET, TURN ON THE LIGHT SWITCH), but it feels like there are some missed opportunities to hide secrets on some items. Speaking of secrets, there are LOADS, and I'm usually really anal about tracking them all down, but in Ion fury I eventually gave up and moved on, but the game is nice enough to tell you if you are missing anything before reaching a point of no return. All in all, a very good game, and I hope to see more cool Build Engine work from the teams!
