It was clearly rushed, but it had already become one of my favorite games even before the developers went back and addressed nearly every single concern I had at the end of my first playthrough. Somehow, I feel like this game ultimately managed to live up to its wild hype.

I played what felt like maybe 1/3rd of the way into this game a few years ago, but I never returned to finish it. I remember loving the story and the characters, but also that the gameplay got a bit repetitive at that point already. I love Remedy and their unique brand of humor, so I'm going to go for another playthrough. Well, because of that and because this game just got its first graphics update in years. I set up my game/graphics settings for this playthrough, and I'm impressed at how optimized this game is. I can't remember how well it ran before the latest update, so I can't attribute the optimization to that for sure. On a 3070 It runs well at a mix of high/ultra graphics settings and a high ray tracing preset with all the ray tracing options enabled. Decent optimization sure is refreshing after playing a number of Unreal Engine 5 games lately. Anyway, I will return to update this review upon my completion of this playthrough. That is, if I do indeed finish the game this time.
