For somebody like me who has never read any of Howard Philips Lovecraft's works and only knew about them from references found in many games and pop culture, this game serves a great introduction. Its well-made graphics and great narrator's voice have made this game even more atmospheric for a visual novel. This game also provides interesting 'Did You Know?' tidbits about Dagon short story and the author himself. These tidbits are particularly interesting to me as they explain how some of Lovecraft's works might have been misunderstood in modern-day pop-culture due to various reasons. Some of the tidbit also show that Lovecraft, like any other persons, is somebody with contradictions and strong opinions. Highly recommended!
My Memory of Us is a shining example about how to tell a gripping story in combination with children fantasy. The result is a game that is entertaining for young audience, yet meaningful for adults. The control is simple and intuitive, the puzzles are challenging without being excessively difficult, the stealth section is well-placed within the game narrative, and I am particularly fond of collecting memories and discovering the story of influential persons in Poland during their struggle in WW II. This gem is a must-have for those who value a game with good story-telling (they have Patrick Stewart as a narrator!) and simple game mechanic.
I have been playing The Witcher series since the first one, and with each iteration, I can see clearly how CDPR went above and beyond to improve the game mechanics, storytelling, and the economy system of the game. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the crowning jewel and a great swansong for The Witcher series. Its gameplay, story, music, and graphics are all top notch, the characters are memorable, and there is plenty of mods out there that can improve this game to an even greater height. I have clocked more than 200 hours on this game, yet I feel there is still plenty of quests and details waiting to be found in my adventure! Well done, CDPR! Thank you, GOG!
