I've never played the original Blood and only recently found out about it through Civvie 11, so I decided to give it a try. This game has an excellent gothic atmosphere, the enemies are very unique, featuring gargoyles, zombies, cultists, etc. Caleb's one-liners are iconic. My favorite part is the weapons, which might be my favorite set of weapons in any game. They are all so powerful and interesting, like the voodoo doll and the napalm cannon. This game is notorious for being difficult, and so I might suggest playing Pink On The Inside difficulty to get the hang of it. But it is by far the best of the Build engine games, and is a strong contender for the best boomer shooter right alongside Doom.
