Creatures: The Albian Years

AMD Users Beware

From what I tried of the game it looks solid. Like a super complex tamagochi. The only reason I would give it such a low rating is that the game is unplayable on AMD graphic cards. There is a fix by downgrading your drivers but, you know, that's just absurd.

Worst controls I've seen

I started playing the game with mouse and keyboard. You move around with "wasd", strong attack is mapped to left arrow key, fast attack is mapped to right arrow key, shield block is up or down. You can also use mouse left and right buttons for the attacks, although the mouse cursor does nothing for the direction of attack so it's actually even worse. Gave it a try with XBox One controller. Definitely better for gameplay, menus, however, are even worse than combat with a keyboard. You can use the D-pad to navigate through active buttons, but sometimes the focus is lost and you have to use a mouse. Also, there are button inconsistencies. For instance, when in the world map, pressing "A" button will bring up the game menu. I wouldn't say the game is unplayable but with these issues, 1.19EU should be its normal price. I also haven't played for too long yet but I can tell it might get repetitive as the other reviews suggest. But I think if you like the combat (and that depends on if at some point the devs fix the controls) and are looking to waste some time playing a video game this might be perfect for you. Since the game interests me, I will check it out again if an update comes out. I will update the review if something changes.

Craft The World

Relaxing experience

I spent an embarrassing amount of time in this game and I can say I enjoy it. For me, it's something I do for an hour a day to pass time and get relaxed. Nothing exciting happens during that time, perhaps I dig a new floor, upgrade the pickaxes of several dwarfs, perhaps find a rune locked door, etc. For that purpose, I think it's perfect, but if you expect excitement and rapid progression and whatnot I feel like you should go for a game like Terarria or the space Terarria that I can't remember the real name of at the moment Final warning: If you play the campaign, the final/fourth world is a bit annoying until you get up to speed, and the occasional raids, at least for me, spiked in difficulty very suddenly. It's more annoying rather than an actual challenge.

Q.U.B.E.: Director's Cut

Good enough.

It's not brilliant game but if you liked Portal you might enjoy this one. That is not to say it's on the same level as Portal, just similar vibe and after all it is a first person puzzle game. There is a story thrown in the players face but it's nothing special. Single worst part about it is that it feels a bit sluggish at certain points. You may want to solve a puzzle in a particular way and you know it's possible if you are fast enough but the mechanics wont allow it because there is a cooldown time on your "portal gun" (it's not a portal gun but it works in a similar fashion, left click does one thing, right click does another)

Mafia II (Classic)

Not perfect but pretty decent

The game is good, even by today's standards. Just don't expect a GTA set in 50s. Even though the world is open to explore at your leisure, I rarely felt I had time to explore. Every time you get control over the character you already have an objective and map marker to go to.. Furthermore as far as I can tell, there aren't any side missions so there really isn't any missed content if you follow the story ASAP. I'd say it's a great interactive crime noire movie with decent plot twists along the way. Haven't played Mafia or Mafia 3 so can't compare the games.
