Despite being a game that graphically hasn't age that well, the rest is quite good: - Good Story and Side Quest. - Interesting universe with a dense lore - Fun mechanics where your playstyle and decisions alter the story and environtment. Technically I was getting some lag when moving the camera, which I fixed by disableling mouse smoothing.
The game looks blurry, and the textures look unsharpened, and there is some flickering going on in the screen. I tried to adjust the display settings but there isn't a workaround. It seems this is a common issue for PC that was never fixed. The thing is I wasn't going to play this for the story or characters, I already know it's the worst installment of the saga in terms of realism and storytelling, so having this awful visuals really makes it a no-no. I give it 2 stars and not one since I didn't play enough to see if the mechanics are cool.
Pretty good game overall, although it's not at the level of the first Mafia game, where the story, ambience and mechanics are more realistic. It seems that this game was made to appeal to GTA players and consecuently lost it's own style. Also, this is not a remaster but a port from a console, so expect minor bugs that otherwise are no game breaking but annoying. All in all , Good Old Game !
This game is fantastic, has a good story with interesting characters and a lot of action and tension. Very cinematic. The game is quite difficult in my opinion and the combat very realistic. Once you get the hang of it, it's really enjoyable. The only thing is that there are not many checkpoints so if you die sometines you gotta redo a good part of the mission, specially on Hard and Very Hard. I found the Medium difficulty quite good for the pace of the story. All in all, I loved it!
Beautiful graphics, well optimized for PC , but a mediocre and boring game, that does everything else worst than the previous entries. Half way through the story, and I am not finishing it. I refuse to. I give it 3/5 because puzzles are not my thing, so it could be fun to players who love that.
First of all, the optimization of this game for PC is not good and it suffers in open areas (the game's engine was made for console). A story about saving humanity against an evil organization who wants to control the world by possesing artefacts that will grant infinite power and immortality... Where did I hear that before? It´s not only the plot, but the climbing and stealth that wants to ressemble the AC saga. Gameplay is filled with climbing and nonsense gadgets that make Lara Croft look more like Spiderman or Batman. After the first game, I was expecting a more mature and badass Lara but it didn´t build on the character of the first game, which was more of an innate survivor and more believable. The combat and crafting mechanics , for the most part, were not better than the first one and your bow is completely OP with special arrows. I don´t remember the last time I wanted a game to end because of the constant slog of the gameplay , story and mediocre performance.
The story starts pretty good but keeps getting more fantastical (12 - 15h to beat the story, btw). Good overall mechanics, reactive enemies, etc, you can be stealthy or going head on, both with their risks. I really loved the weapons progression system, the abilities not that much. All in all a good game but not a masterpiece.
