Maybe it's the hype, the decades-worth of personal gaming history, but given how much I loved Witcher 3, I had hoped this would offer a similar level of engagement, character development, world-building and polish. And to some degree it does - in many ways it is a fantastic accomplishment, but this feels kind of a hollow experience, like a cobbling together of cyberpunk themes from various books/movies without really telling a unique story. And the writing isn't great - I guess CDPR had it made with the Witcher series, adapting stories that were tried and tested, and having to write their own story it just feels a bit cookie-cutter cyberpunk. Tl;dr overhyped, will probably improve somewhat with patches, but not significantly. Disappointed, but then I probably expected too much.
