I've been a fan of the series from Age of Wonders 1 (or just "Age of Wonders" as it was called back then), so since the start, and this is just insane. This series used to be cheap, you know? Like, never at full price, but around 30.- Euros or so. And yes, it became more expensive with each new title, but look at this! Full price 50 bucks and then about a 100 bucks of DLC? First-Day DLC? The game is fine, I am not sure yet if it's up to par with the previous game or the spin-off Age of Wonders - Planetfall, but it's fine. However... the DLC and the pricing? Feels a bit scummy. Let me be clear, I am fine with a company making money, but... there is a limit and that amount of DLC and the prices for it? That's my limit. I'll stick with the base game and maybe get the Ultimate Edition at some point.

This clearly shows that small devs can be just as horrible as big triple A companies. We are talking about a single player game, we are talking about skillpoints, a gun skin, a first aid kit. All for between 3-5 bucks. All stuff that you should get in game and shouldn't need or even be able to buy with real money. Absolutely disgusting. And sure, 3 dollars are not a lot of money, but look what you are getting for it.

I was sure CP77 would absolutely blow me away, and in a way it did. A game that had been so hyped by the PR departments and then had half the stuff that was presented to fans cut out of the game. A game that was so buggy that on day one I had to stop after not even an hour, because a bug directly after the prologue stopped me from continuing the game. A game that was so buggy it was removed from the Playstation store, a game that was basically unplayable on Last Gen consoles, despite CDPR talking about how surprisingly well the game runs on them. And it took so long to fix the worst of it and the upcoming update that will finally actually implement some of what was initially promised, basically forces you to upgrade your hardware. It's insane. This was badly done, released about 2 years too early, handled horribly by the company, and it simply doesn't deserve the high ratings it is getting. It is an okay game now, but the whole story before that has to be taken into account, I can not just review the game as it is now, I have to also review the game as it was when I actually was waiting to finally play it. And just because you get your game running halfway stable and got all the systems in there working at a base level should not be worthy of four or five stars out of five.
