Add confusing story, confusing controls, absolutely zero agency. I never know what I'm doing and why, but it does not seem to matter much. You go somewhere, you shoot people, some cutscene shows up with people spewing nonsense, rinse and repeat. It's like a really badly written action movie. The kind you regret buying a ticket for.
I have spent hours and hours troubleshooting, then more hours trying to get an acceptable performance on a PC with GTX 1080 in SLI, i7 4790 and 16GB RAM. After a lot of trial and error, it sort of works now, but I still get frequent crashes that set back my progress, and the save system is not helping. All of it makes the experience very frustrating. The gameplay so far is repetitive and bland. I read in reviews that later on in gets better, potentially, but how would I know, I cannot reach that stage with the all the crashes. GOG warned me that the review should be about my experience: well, it has been abysmal. The only reason I have been trying so hard to actually play the game is because of all the hype surrounding it. If it were another title I would have stopped the nonsense and I would have requested a full refund days ago.
