System Shock® 2 (1999)

Play it.

I just stopped by to say I played this game almost 15 years after it was released and I enjoyed. Yeah the graphics are not the best, but the atmosphere and the music is well done. I still really enjoyed this game even though it came out in 1999 and I played it for the first time about 5 years ago.

Freedom Fighters

It's finally here.

First off, this game is absolutely worth your time as is. This is one of my all time favorite video games period. I bought this gem on disc around 2004 and for many years I would pop it in my disc drive and play through it. Sadly about 5 or 6 years ago no OS could support it. I tried many different fixes and "patches", but nothing worked. I discovered the Community wishlist because of this game. I sent a personal email to GOG begging them to get this game. I was directed to the C-wishlist and waited patiently for this day. So reasons why I love this game: Squad based, 3rd person shooter. The controls for squads are very simple with 1234 on the keyboard. The story imo is excellent, an alternative reality where Russia took more control after WW2 and decides to invade the USA. Think Red Dawn but in New York. Eventually your squad becomes massive. Another thing I like is the shooting mechanics. The combat feels very visceral and chaotic at most times which is more in tune with freedom fighters leading raids rather then battle harden soldiers. There is no blood or gore but the shooting is satisfying. Combat is not realistic however, some enemies take more bullets to bring down then others. This is good tho, feels like its own game rather then a COD clone. I cannot stress enough how much I love tjis game. I have been telling people about this game for years and I'm hoping more people will appreciate it and enjoy it as much as I do!!! Cheers

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

Fun, but some issues

I have never played this game before. I had a Sega Genesis and a Playstation growing up. Because of this I have been collecting old school games I never got to play as a kid. This is one of them. I was very excited to play however I am having a lot of frame-rate issues. I noticed other reviews saying that they are not having any problems, but I just want people to be aware that they may encounter problems like that. Some portions of the game were barely playable because of it. As mentioned in the title, the game is very fun when its working correctly.
