Ghost of a Tale

A lot of running around

A charming and fairly forgiving action jaunt. Good if you like that sort of thing. But playing it gave me motion sickness.

Avernum: Escape From the Pit

Not for the Casual Gamer

Well done old-style game for the player who likes challenging combat along with a somewhat interesting story. But even in Casual mode can be frustrating for others. So if this is your kind of thing fine, but others beware.

Thea 2: The Shattering

Has potential but a long way to go.

Some intriguing concepts for a story-telling game. Good art. Game is stable but needs a lot of development work. Would classify it as an early beta. (However I have my doubts about the development team after looking at some of the scripts in the event editor.)

Dragon Age™: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Combat Heavy Roleplaying

Just a warning that this is a real-time combat heavy experience with a high degree of violence. This may not be what you want to spend your time on. The GOG game description does not properly reflect these aspects of the game.

Renowned Explorers Bundle

Why a bundle ?

Already have the base game. How about a special price, or even free, for the expansion.

Legend of Grimrock 2

Old Style Dungeon Crawl

A modern version of the old style dungeon crawl. Primary interaction is via keyboard controls, which you may or may not like. There are a number of dexterity and reflex type encounters, so you might prefer to play on Easy mode unless you're masochistic. Graphics are fairly good, although many dungeon walls get repeated over and over. Not much of a story though, just enough to provide a framework for the crawling. Play is quite linear however so you can't go astray. No money and shopping options - items are seeded along the way for you to pick up and equip. Need to keep your adventurer's fed which is a nuisance, but food (primarily monster remains) is easy to acquire.

Guild of Dungeoneering Deluxe Edition

Different and Clever

A puzzle game in which you guide, or misguide, adventurers to increase the glory of your guild. Easy to get started in, but challenging as you progress. It has a fairly simple story line but amusing dialog and music. No dexterity, only thinking required.

Sokobond

Good puzzler with retro interface

Nice little puzzle game, but input appears to be limited to the keyboard.

Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete

The sequel is not better

I strongly recommend sticking with the original Neverwinter Nights. The interface in this newer version is cumbersome and buggy, and the performance mediocre. The adventures are OK, but the original has many more excellent fan created adventures. I'm going to take this off my computer call it a learning experience.

Eador: Genesis

OK, But not top tier.

If you like turn-based-strategy games such as Heroes of Might & Magic or Age of Wonders you'll feel right at home with this game. But it's not nearly the same caliber as those games, and you'll likely be frustrated by its limited graphics and awkward interface. One major limitation is that it does not provide multiple saved games so you can't easily go back and try a different strategy. A further limitation is the lack of any manual or documentation.
