Last played this game when it came out more than 30 years ago. It's still a brilliant piece of storytelling and world-building. More linear - but much more coherent and atmospheric - than Part 1. (The inventory [non-]system still drives me *insane*, though...)

Only about 10 hours in, but so far this seems to live up to its mighty predecessor. The writing is absolutely top-notch, and the setting is intriguing, poetic and beautifully realised. My only gripe so far is that the plotline (nameless revenant protagonist accosted by old acquaintances and assailed by memories of past lives, etc.) feels almost like a retread: Planescape Torment with lasers. But I trust it to diverge in compelling ways...

Ultima 7 is an amazing piece of work: beautifully designed, intricately plotted, vast in scope and conception. (And Part 2 is even better!) I played it as a kid back in the '90s and was utterly enthralled; I'm replaying it 30 years later and it has lost none of its brilliance. Thank you, GOG!

A superb tale superlatively told, in a world - or rather several worlds - at once utterly bizarre and wholly convincing. Shows most video games up for the trash they are!
