This game is NOT a soldier of fortune follow up. Nor is it the same devs. This was done by Activision Budget, and that's exactly what it was. NO investment. They utilized the SOF IP to sell this horrible excuse for a game. That was all. If you purchase it , buyer beware... I mean, REALLY BEWARE. If you look at the EXE file, the name on it is " Mercenaries Wanted ". That was how we in the SOF2 community knew it was not what they wanted it to be. Game play is retched and filled with bugs that never got fixed. Merrick Former moderator of Gamingforums.com Former Poster for soffiles.com
Indeed , where to begin. The game itself is a classic title that had it's day in the sun. Mp game play was phenomenal. It still has servers hosted for it even after the master server shutdown. Buying it now, isnt worth it. You can play the single player game and enjoy it so long as you understand that , the game itself is 20 years old. It isn't meant to stand the test of time and run on newer hardware. It wasn't built that way. Many of the older games weren't. I put thousands of Multiplayer hours into this game, running with the best of the best of our time. This game was a cut above most fps in that era. want an FPS single player classic? Buy it. Don't expect much out of it otherwise.
