In the Myst series, the first one, and especially this reedition is awesome. The puzzles are really nice. It is not awfully hard (Riven is terrible in this particular aspect), the sceneries are really incredible, imaginative. The journals are a one kind of experience. The Myst universe is just magical ! And its books are damn cool. And when you have finished it you get a nice sense of achievement. In a nutshell, play it !
That game came right before half-life, and so emerge its major problem: it is just another generic shooter. It's not totally bad, but not really memorable. If it had came 1 or 2 year later, it may have faced less competition and be rated as "average".
