Planescape: Torment

Truly epic storytelling

Arguably the best of bioware's works in terms of raw storytelling. They took on one of the D&D's most complex, and under-appreciated settings, and created a story that stands up even years later. It had bad sales initially, most likely due to the setting not having been the ultra-popular Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance worlds, but has maintained a reputation as being one of the few cRPGs to which all others should be compared. Honestly, it's the best written game I've ever played.

Master of Orion 1+2

EPIC

Bought MoO2 at full price back when it came out. That was around $70 at the time, if I remember right. Was worth every penny - I still crack out the old CD and install it every so often. If I didn't already own it, I'd buy it again in a minute.

Master of Magic Classic

Godlike

One of the best 4X games I've ever played. In many ways, I found it more satisfying than even the might Civilization series. Having multiple base races to choose from, and the ability to create your wizard, and thus potentially create radically different tech trees every time, means that there's a lot more replay value than you're likely to see almost anywhere else.

Master of Orion 3

Barely even a game

The first two games were epic, and are still very much worth replaying, even years later. I bought MoO2 back when it came out, and still load it up on occasion. Worth every penny. This, on the other hand, is barely even a game. It mostly feels as though you're controlling a spreadsheet rather than a galactic empire. You don't really get anywhere near enough control over your empire - especially not the fun parts (combat, for example). You never really feel like you're accomplishing anything. Playing this feels more like work than anything else.
