The first three, arguably even four Tomb Raider games are just timeless classics. The level-design was and is just excellent and they are challenging, but almost never to a point where they become unfair. The amount of bashing these remasters get for some small "mis-steps" are baffeling to me. - They are called "censored", because a half-naked lady on the Jacket of Pierre wears a bikini now (no one in their right mind would have noticed that back in the day). - It's called "condescending" that they added a disclaimer for them to distance from racial depictions (whch is only present in the console version to begin with) - Now they removed the pictures on Lara's locker in a recent update and that is considered severe censorship? Am i living in the same universe? Did you play TR3, if you complain about the disclaimer? Nowadays they pretty much have to add such a dislclaimer, otherwise the same people (I'm pretty sure) would accuse them of racism. (All black people are mindless cannibals)... The removal of these pictures (in one small scene), I have the strong feeling there might be legal trouble, they wanted to avoid. (Do you know who owns the rights to these old promotional pictures?) The bikini thing.... well, whatever... Now, let's see what they did good: - the remastered graphics are just gorgeous, especially the backgrounds, skyboxes often really look amazing and they could have messed that up so bad, but didn't - it's really cool to be able to switch to classic mode on the fly... not every remaster (actually very few) allow that and despite 30fps lock (which is very noticable), it's just fun to check how it looked originally (and how they improved) - they add a lot of improvements in their updates - why is this taken for granted? TR5 is still a broken mess (sadly) -they added all add-ons, especially "Lost Artifact" is hard to get nowadays Don't take that for granted and be grateful for the level of quality for a very reasonable price...
This game is still fun. But on Windows 10 the performance of gog version is just terrible. When scrolling the screen stutters and I can't find a fix anywhere. Isn't the point of gog to be able to run old games on new systems without issues?
