Dungeon Keeper is a tremendously original game, in which you dig out dungeons, so that you may overtake this disgustingly nice world, with its horrifically nice, happy people, as well as competing dungeon keepers. Getting to play as the antagonist is a fun twist, which is made even better by the excellent voice work and the game's sense of humour. This is a must-play! There's a good reason this game is so beloved, and while graphically it's surely outdated, it's no less playable today as it was back then.
I've played through many of Lucasarts' adventures but Sam & Max was the first. I was too young to understand the English (not my native tongue), jokes, and many of the references, but I still loved it for its slapstick and its atmosphere (in part because of the beautiful artwork). After I could understand it better, as I got older, I appreciated it even better. It's excellent, it's genuinely funny and any adventure fans that haven't played this: must play!
FlatOut is a pretty challenging racing game which can be both frustrating and fun at the same time. It's frustrating when you hit something invisible and see your driver launched through the wind shield, and it's so much fun when, well, all other times, pretty much. The game doesn't have too many tracks, but the ones it has have been very well designed and look great. The game's soundtrack is great, the graphics are quite good and, overall, the presentation is excellent. One of the game's strong suits in my opinion. Gameplay is good, but there's not too much depth to it. As a whole, it's very well made. If you are interested in a racing game that's NOT geared towards following the perfect line through a corner, or trying to prevent any damage to your car, this might be worth getting. As I write this, the game goes for $1.49, so unless the premise doesn't sound appealing to you at all, this is a steal, and that's a huge understatement. There's almost no excuse for not picking it up!
Deus Ex is a truly great game. That is: if you give it a chance. I gave it a chance the THIRD time I started it. It took me a little while to "get" it, but when I did, I loved every moment of it. This game is a piece of art, if you like to decide for yourself how to play this. This concept is implemented really well: you do not have to kill the enemies (save for 2 or 3) if you don't want to and I found it to be a very satisfying experience of "getting my way". The settings are quite nice, the atmosphere is great and it's easy to get immersed into the game. The story is interesting enough to keep you from losing interest. One of the best PC games out there.
