D.I.G. - Deep In Galaxies

Not bad

I'm surprised this game isn't more popular. This game can be best described as a more action focused Terraria minus the base building. Due to the RNG if you get real lucky you can one-shot the boss :)

Alien Shooter + Expansions

Simple and fun shooter

Do you like aliens? Do you like shooters? This game is probably for you! This game can be boiled downed to hold down left-mouse button and kill everything, can't get any simpler than that. A few issues I've noticed: Enemies can be very bullet-spongey, so you'll run into instances where you run out ammo and have to rely on the weak pistol. Playing on easy is recommended as the balance seems to be just right. Normal can get very difficult very quickly. Aiming is weird. You have to put your crosshair on the target to hit instead of aiming in their direction to hit like other shooters of this type. This can take some getting used to. The AI is very simple. I think the AI is programmed to just follow the player and that's about it. It's very easy for them to get stuck on obstacles like walls or boxes. While this can be amusing to watch, it can get annoying quickly. Ammo, health, cash drops don't stay long enough in game. You break some boxes and find an abundance of mini gun ammo, but you're full so you decide to come back later to pick them up after fighting off some aliens. By the time you get back they're gone. Best to not break open boxes unless you need the health or ammo. Low replay value. Once you beat it that's it! No alternate endings or additional weapons to unlock. Not much more to see. Overall it's a decent game. There is no of a story to follow, just kill all the aliens. Recommended if you want a simple, fun, mindless shooter.

KING OF THE MONSTERS

play for nostalgia

I had a chance to play this wayback when it was in the arcade machines, but now that I'm playing it again in 2018, I'm having ambivalent feelings about this game. The game itself runs fine on my Win7 box which is great. The problem is there are no instructions on how to play this game! Since I've forgotten how to play this many years later. The controls are not explained well in-game which only exacerbates the confusing game mechanics. Also the AI for this game (in my opinion) is extremely difficult, even on the lowest difficulty settings. The unlimited continues feature is extremely useful in this case. I picked this up during a sale so I don't regret it, but unless you're a big fan of the game I will have to give this a pass or buy with a deep discount.
