Highly recommended to play this with the Rev mod, which improves experience greatly from the base game. As a whole, KRV + Rev gives a good strategy experience. I particularly liked the Pirates patch (which can be bought on Steam), which forces you to think and adapt quite a bit. Special thanks to Ironhide's community manager, Octarina, who was very helpful and helped me resolve a minor issue I experienced.
