Brutal, Vicious, Enthralling, Scary, Addictive, Beautiful, Heart Pounding! DOOM! GRAPHICS - Great art style, this is a game that will always be great to look at. It's like playing a gory, action packed, over the top comic book. GAMEPLAY - Shooter, Action, Survival, Horror, Strategy, Puzzle. Yes, DOOM is not only a Shooter. Only being good at aiming will not make you a good player. You require a wide variety of skills to consider yourself good at it. You run at superhuman speeds, mowing down hordes of demons with only one primitive instinct, that of disemboweling everything they see. Suddenly the lights go out, and you can hear them closing in. You need to find the best way of disposing them, as ammo is limited. Demons have patterns and abilties that complement each other, always challenging the player. Pinky demons will close the distance with zig-zagging motions, acting like a "tank", while hitscan enemies and imps shred you from your distance. You have to use the environment to your advantage and kill them in an optimal, ammo conserving way. Maybe lure them in a tight corridor, chainsawing the pinkies, while the imps throw fireballs in the back of the pinkies, causing them to infight. DOOM requires strategy and planning, not only rushing in and getting ambushed by hordes of evil, demonic creatures. The maps are open, and you have to choose which part you want to explore and what items to pick up first. Should you go one way and pick up an armor, or the other way to get a sweet chaingun? Also, the game has a lot of secrets, requiring you to use your brain and find the, It has a lot of depth, and mastering it will take you some time, but it is worth it. You have to play it on a high difficulty level to get the most out of it. So yeah, this game has some of the best gameplay out there, EVER! MUSIC - Great music, some awesome guitar riffs to complement the brutal gameplay. LASTING APPEAL - Tons of hours of fun, there are literally hundreds of user created maps.
Gonna keep this short and sweet (just like the game). PROS: -great graphics and design (1930's vibe) -great sound effects -a world you want to explore -Tim Schafer & Double Fine -full of charm -The Lost Hobo King DLC -great to play on a snowy evening cuddled up with your gf/bf enjoying a hot cup of tea CONS: -not very lengthy -puzzles are kinda easy -gameplay mechanics too simplistic for the hardcore gamer Personal Note: If you like adventure games and like exploring a great miniature toy world, you should definitely buy it; if not, STILL BUY IT :D
I've played all the monkey island games, and i must admit that at the debut of Tales of Monkey Island, I was a bit worried that it wouldn't manage to rise at fans expectations. Well after finishing the series I can honestly say that it does justice to the Monkey Island franchise. The game is composed of five episodes that when put head to head, offer a complete Monkey Island experience. If you played any of the older titles and enjoyed them, be assured that you will enjoy this one as well. The puzzles are actually pretty good , with a perfect balance of difficulty so that you must think about what you're doing (and not just trying to randomly combine all items in your inventory) yet not as difficult to get stuck for hours and hours. The voice acting is great, especially Guybrush who is voiced by the original actor. The graphics and design are also very well done, and the music is absolutely wonderful, with recurring yet modified tracks from older titles and of course, new ones as well. If you are a fan of adventure games this is a must have ! I strongly suggest purchasing this title! I know i am !
I can't believe they brought silver here ! I love you GoG! One of the best RPGs i've played,great combat system,graphics and design. It's a unique game, it's not as complex as other RPGs but it's really fun to play. The story is a classic one where the evil guy kidnaps the princess and you have to save her but it's very enjoyable and fairy-tale like. I know this sounds cheesy but trust me it's really worth the 5 bucks. I would happily have payed a lot more for this. BUY IT NOW!
Ok so i'm fking pissed off at people who say this game is too hard to be fun, or that the interface is messed up. I have finished all commandos games, and besides commandos 3 that screwed a bit with the controles(still very playable) all the other titles are easy to master. I've finished commandos 2 for the first time when i was12 years old (2001 when it was released) and that's not because i was uber skilled or anything, it's just because the game AIN'T THAT FREAKING HARD ! Anyone here who gives the game bad reviews is because they probably played like 5 minutes and deleted it and came raging here like idiots. Play the game, it's easy to learn and i guarantee that if you like strategy/tactical games, you will like Commandos!
