Well, favorite alongside 4, but this is a classic and much better than the remake. I would label it as the best pre-Resident Evil 4 Resident Evil game
Having never played the original a lot, this allows a whole bunch of neat features. It's so dark and moody; I love it!
While I read that it is closer in spirit to Alone in the Dark, it gets lumped in as a Resident Evil clone. I had such a good time playing the game. The environment, mood, and characters are all perfect. You can remap controls or on a controller and just vibe. I will say something controversial, but this is better than the first Resident Evil. Yeah, I said it! It's not too hard on normal difficulty and I DID beat the game on a keyboard and didn't die once. It's a solid, fun, lighthearted, game for people interested in RE-style survival horror games. Does it have a few animation issues? Yes. But that is part of the charm! It's pretty obscure so if you like underrated games nobody plays or reports on, there are a lot worse than this. My review is biased but I really enjoyed this game way more than I thought I ever would!
I adore old survival horror games and I am so glad this came to PC. Works perfectly!
I went into this expecting pain, and this was surprisingly engaging. I had way more fun with this than Resident Evil 2 Remake
