No Man's Sky

Not much fun

NMS is basically a less fun, more grindy and annoying Subnautica. To do anything in NMS you'll have to grind for resources. Your life support and health is draining much of the time and needs to be recharged with resources you mine. Your mining laser itself needs to be recharged every couple minutes. Flying your ship has like three separate modules that each need to be recharged to do anything. I'm not really having much fun exploring this huge universe when I have to spend 98% of the time shooting rocks just to keep all the systems running. Navigating the universe using the galaxy map is needlessly frustrating. And the planets themselves don't have maps. I find myself getting lost sometimes, only by chance finding my way back to ship. But NMS sure makes me nostalgic for Subnautica. The resource gathering and base building is cut from the same mold. But Subnautica manages to make the exploration compelling and fun, which in NMS' is just tedious for the sake of being tedious I guess. But to give NMS credit the art style is pretty.
