Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition

No thanks

I've read other reviews, I've watched youtube videos and thought to myself "This looks epic!" So I bought the game and started in,,,,, and was disappointed. The character creation looked more indepth than it actually was, and I guess my version of the game was different than previous ones because following a few character creation FAQs didn't work because they were recommending I choose things that just weren't available at the beginning nor were available at lvl 2 or 3 when it was telling me to pick other things at those levels as well. Some were available but maybe half weren't. Also, I admit I didn't get far into the story but what I did get to just wasn't fun. Games like Baldurs gate had me hooked straight out of the chute, Dragon Age 1, Planescape, I know good RPGs and a sign of a good one is a game that gets me before I'm done with what I'd call the intro quests. This,,,just didn't do that. Despite being pretty it's vapid and thin. It MIGHT of gotten better but I don't have the time nor patience to wait for it to get better when better games were good from the start. So honestly, I wish I'd of bought this on Steam so I can get a refund. Word to the wise, pay close attention to the GoG's refund policy, it's not as good as it seems. With Steam as long as play time was less than 2 hours I could've refunded it, No joy here. So now I'm stuck with a game I'll never play more than what's already done and now uninstalled.

Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition

Greatest game ever

I bought this game back in 2000 or so, played on my Acer Aspire with a 3 gig HD lol, disc swapping madness. Anyway, this is by far the greatest game ever. It's all about story, and it has more story than any 4 or 5 games combined now days do. Skyrim may be pretty, has ZERO story by comparison. This is the way RPGs should be made. The choices made you want to save scum just to see what would've or could've happened. Not to cheat the RNG, but to explore. The voice acting, back when devs actually cared to get people who could voice act instead of using a machine or the janitor. All my waking time before and after work were put into this game for probably 6 months. After I did everything I could do and beat the game, I never touched it again. It was such a good game, once I was finished, I was genuinely satisfied with it, and just never felt the need to play it again. Odd way of thinking I spose. If you want pretty, if you can't read, if you want the game to hold your hand, then you'll hate this game. If you want story, choices that matter, and well thought out plots, then you'll love Planescape.

Call to Power 2

Almost terrible

This is by far the worst of any "Civ" title. The AI was insane. One AI unit could demolish 2 or 3 of your equal units at any given time. Capturing cities required complete armies, but they could use 1 unit to take one of your cities, and the game was all but impossible to beat without being a full on warrior. While it did have some cool ideas, like the public works and water cities, the flaws far away the good stuff. Call to Power 1 is by far a better game of the Call to Power series.
