I really should have read the reviews more carefully before buying this game. Having played all the old Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger, Phantasy Star etc. I thought this would be really fun nostalgia. And for the first half hour it was. But after that it became more and more tedious. The story is bland, the battle system (or systems) too simplistic and the jokes not too clever. Seriously, why no limited amount of mana? I could use the healing and x-crystal spell as often I wanted. And the games story lasts only for 2 hours... 3 hours max. Well, you can stretch it out, if you are a completionist and try to gather all the stars and cards, but personally I really don’t care about such things (or pointless achievements in general for that matter). I understand that it's not easy for an indie developer to create a lengthy and in-depth game. On the other hand, after buying something, I become a consumer, who is interested in having a good time. This game didn't deliver.
