Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition

DISAPPOINTING GAME

My and only experience with this series was with the first one, Divine Divinity. I have found the game to be very frustrating. It is extremely slow to level up, side quests are difficult as there is no guidance. I do NOT like the turn based stuff at all. It gets frustrating when you are getting your stuff kicked and you have to stand there. The game doesn't look that bad, I would put it on a level as the first Witcher game. The dialog is fine and there is some humor to be had there. The fight controls are terrible. As I said, it is turn based and in one case, I got one round in more or less as I had to pass to get enough points to do anything. In the bad Guys second round, they just kept coming until I got wiped out and I never really got offense in. Granted, I was level 6 and these guy were level 7, but should not have made that much difference. Adventuring outside can be a problem and not all that enjoyable as there are too many fight sequences that tend to take the fun out of exploring. In one case, I got some bad information when I went online. I was having some issues with the Trap House. According to what I found online, when you open the door, there is a water Trap, but the switch is next to the door and you can turn it off. Not so, You open the door and there is nothing but poison. That can be dealt with briefly, but in doing so, you get burnt up. Found another way in which was better. As I said, this is not a typical RPG and is frustrating to play. It is an alright time waster until something else comes along, but nothing you can really get into, at least I can't. If I can't keep moving in a game, I quickly become bored with it. My preferences are with stuff like the Elder Scrolls stuff, Fallout stuff, and of course The Witcher series. This is a long way away from those. I gave it 3 stars, but was being charitable. I participated in the Crowd Funding for Divinity: Original Sin and was supposed to get a copy, but never did.
