They really recaptured the magic of playing Hollow Knight for the first time and put enough of a twist on it so it feels brand new. They really upgraded every aspect of Hollow Knight - adding "classes" (Crests), adding an additional "currency" (Shell Shards), and expanding the movement kit tremendously.
