The game itself is a classic. The current GOG version has been sabotaged. "Graphics Setup.exe" runs like malware, has no window, does not exit by itself, uses up large amount of cpu. The game exe file runs in a tile window fixed to the top left of the screen, almost impossible to see. Game is pretty much unplayable. Previous versions of the game on GOG uses DosBox was at least playable. There is no particular reason to buy the game.

A crude action RPG game made with bare minimal effort. (not turn based with action orders) The story and characters are really boring but as a falcolm games tends to have there is a plot twist once you get very close to the end that makes things a bit more interesting. The skills and combos are not very well made. The animation is quiet basic. The game play systems, menus, progression, quests, mini games follow the same structure as trails of cold steel. But compared to trails of cold steel this game feels more like a skeleton game in every respect. It can be taken to be a prototype and made for practice before making cold steel III in PS4. Falcom remains very profitable by making these games low budget, so dont expect top quality. Personally I would not pay more than $40 AUD for this game. Having played it on the PS4 it leaves kind of a bad taste in my mouth.

This is a good game and I feel better than supreme commander. There are some rough edges and issues but its perfectly playable. It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you got the hang of it its very decent game. Gameplay wise everything has its counters, defensive structures are very strong. You can definitely hole up, just not on too few nodes. There is a building called refinery that gives you extra resources and I believe they stack. Orbital abilities punishes single group of mass units. smaller groups of units in multiple places are better. But you need to know how much force you need to send. That you need to learn. Story is pretty basic and isnt told too well but its ok. The AI is decent. Music is orchestrated, dont have many tracks but they sound pretty good. Animation is mostly fine, there maybe a few small problems sometimes but nothing major. Im playing on the high graphics setting. If there are many units on the map, the game just slows down a bit, still playable. I havent experienced framerate issues. Im running on a first generation i7 from 6 years ago with standard HDD and a new graphics card GTX770. I believe the current i5 is faster. This game can be enjoyable but you have to learn. Rank match 1v1 always start around 4 min or less from my experience and I dont play on peak times.
