They updated the game 2 months ago and it completely bricked the game's functionality. It crashes on launch, crashes in menus, permanently freezes the screen, and more. To fix this, you need to go into GOG Galaxy, right click NWN2 in your library, click manage installation, configure, and then towards the bottom there should be a section for Auto updates. Untick 'Automatically update to newest version' and click the bubble for 'Version 1.23' that was created years ago, and this will fix the game. Then the game should perform fine with the client extender installed, which is extremely necessary for this broken and buggy title.
