The gameplay is a very good dungeon crawler with a classic JRPG-style combat system that’s both fun and engaging. The levelling system is unique, tactical, and well-designed. It can get quite grindy if you’re aiming for 100% completion or the good ending, but the core gameplay loop stays satisfying throughout. Dungeon exploration is rewarding and requires some planning, which makes every run feel worthwhile. Some gameplay elements aren’t explained very well, though, and a few mechanics or locations can be tricky to find without a guide. The game isn’t particularly hard overall, but certain enemies are just plain annoying and stay that way even late in the game—even when you’re over-levelled. The story is extremely good—honestly even better than the already strong previous titles. The main story is exceptionally engaging and consistently entertaining. Side quests are fun and often comedic, but they still fit nicely within the serious tone of the main plot. As always, the characters and their interactions are one of the best parts of the game: entertaining, well-written, and genuinely charming. The new characters are lovable too, though most of them only appear in the post-game—so some players might miss out if they stop after the main story. That would be a shame, since the post-game is packed with content, easily making up 30–40% of the full experience. It even leads to the good/true ending, which requires you to complete all the character content. The soundtrack is excellent. I especially love the little water-drop sound effect that plays when your attack ends—it’s such a small detail but super satisfying. Each character has their own theme song when you interact with them, and they fit perfectly. The Custom theme that plays when interacting with Shizuka and Maria is beautiful, and so are the other character themes. The battle theme is great too—it never got old, even after 200 hours of playtime. The art is beautiful and sharp. You can really see the detail and the artists’ intent; it’s consistent throughout and still looks great even today. The H-scenes are good but noticeably short compared to previous and later entries—most are only about 2–5 minutes long, usually closer to the lower end. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Overall, Rance 6 is exceptional. Even though it’s about 20 years old now, it’s my favourite entry in the entire series from 1–9. Rance 01 – The game is very grindy, the main story is simple but captivating. The main character (Rance) is fun, but he can be appalling to some people, main cast is interesting. There is a moment in a game where you will be cut off from most questlines and it is not explained at all. The game suffers the same wound few times, but not as severely. As such I would recommend, following the wiki walkthrough since you can miss a lot of content when going in blind. The gameplay is unique and fun, but it does get repetitive. The H-CGs are good, but nothing special. The score is pleasant, and it does include classic at the end, but it is a weakest in the series. I would say it is good entry to series, and I recommend it. Game is grindy, but the grind is fast due to fast forward bottom which is great. However the skip unfortunately is extremely fast and can skip dialogue, so I advise using it with caution or just last hit with no skip to avoid that. Story of this game is fantastic, and it blends beautifully with great soundtrack. These two components mixed make up for the mediocre gameplay. All characters are extremely well written and fun to watch interact with each other. Atmosphere is unforgettable. The H-Scenes are plentiful and very good; However, they are not outstanding. A step up from previous title. An important entry since it introduces few recurring characters and expands lore plentifully. Must play. Story and charcters are solid as always with this series; However it has probably the worst combat system of all games, companions act on their own making sometimes trival battles drag because they don't cast ability that can one shot enemy . Also it is an easy game compared to other titles. It is short game unlike other entries, and it has a lot of H-Scenes compared to 01. If you like series play it it intruduces two of most fun characters Shizuka and Maria.

Very good main story, I loved the main heroine, good charcter writting and develpment of "main"/"recuring" characters. Very wholesome game compared to other Rance games. Although it is most grindy game for completion*, The gameplay is solid. *slight SPOILERS-the can-can exp is very weak later on requiring you kill few of them just to get one lvl up, and last hidden boss requires you to finish game 3 times.

Nice characters, intriguing story, fun gameplay. Not as grindy as new titles from AliceSoft

Grindy,Good entry to Rance franchise, 8/10
