I recently played this for the first time, having not played any doom game since the original way back in th e90's. I was a bit concerned that it might come across a bit dated after playing modern AAA titles, but wow! I was blown away by how good this game is. The gameplay feels awesome and the graphics hold up well today, providing a great atmosphere for this genre. There is lore there but does not overwhelm you to the point it feels like an interactive movie, it is just enough to keep you interested and progressing. The soundtrack also rocks and helps keep your adrenaline topped up. Over all the game is great. Towards the end the gameplay is starting to feel a bit samey, but at this point the game is coming to its conclusion. Everything about this game feels just right for me.
