Edit: GOGs help service provided a long list of solutions. One has worked, I just don't know which one it was, or maybe all of them. Now it did not crash in 3h straight and its as good es everyone says it is. Just too bad its not working out of the box. ----- Original post: I did not get the chance to experience the game since it constantly crashes on my AMD CPU / nVidia GPU. I tried several approaches and it simply does not stop crashing. I am way above the minimal specs, so no worries there. Seems badly optimized with stuttering cut scenes and strange lags from time to time. I am really disappointed that this has not been adressed yet, since I am not the only one experiencing those crashes.

On the surface it looks like its almost the same game as KoH1 with newer graphics, but the new mechanics and ressources add a lot of depth. Its easy to understand the systems, but hard to master. The (not so) limited build spaces demand some tough choices, but this helps balancing the game and its a nice challenge. I like it. If I had to complain, it would be the high draw on performance in contrast to more "functional" graphics - its giving an RTX3070 a hard time - and the lack of camera options. I also would have liked some changes to the very simple politics screens, but they are getting the job done. All in all I would recommend this game if KC3/EU/Victoria is too much spread sheet for you and if you think that Total War has not enough non military choices. Its a nice global strategy game, more on the light hearted side without being shallow. Good job.

It could be a mindblowing experience. Could. But there are just so many bugs... I played for 12 hours so far and I had to reload quests twice for the triggers to work. Besides that, there is nothing game breaking but countless smaller bugs. Phones, burgers, cigarrettes stuck in the air. People driving in invisible cars, exploding shelves (physics engine going crazy?), random crashing cars, serious performance drops (rtx 3070!), random people popping in, and many more. It really feels rushed, those minor bugs shouldn't be in a gold version - this is beta stuff.
