Before this game, judging solely by the state of games industry nowadays, I was expecting this game to be a massive flop, honestly because it had all the ingredients to be so: - sequel of a game more than decades old, that was acclaimed critically but not so much comercially - crowdfunded (not on kickstarter, but still) - made by a studio full of brilliant people who, despite of their brilliancy, sometimes miss their mark - led by an industry veteran who seemed to be one of those brilliant guys who had their best time in the industry gone, and their current work is not exacly brilliant but in spite of all that, and against all odds, the game is absolutely amazing, it absolutely delivered everything a sequel should deliver in spades: having it's universe already intruduced by a sequel, it doesn't waste time reexplaining things, and instead throws the player in the deep end, taking time to expand the already established world. Worldbuilding is done swiftly and doesn't overstay it's welcome. it's balls to the wall wacky. the only bad sides is the gameplay which is a little wonky and outdated, seeing that it wasn't really updated much since the original. i really don't like how sometimes you have to stop the game dead on it's tracks to select abilities, and honestly think it should be done contextually in most instances, especially in regards to traversal abilities. also while the writing is amazing, it doesn't get to "milkman" levels of amazing. anyway, it's charming, it's fun, it's amazingly well written, and feels like a cohesive, engaging adventure. it's a rarity of a gem in this industry, and it should be appropriately lauded for that. buy this game.

I wasn't expecting much of it, but what a pleasant surprise! I've never thought that a game would ever combine TPP and FPS so well. The pace is kinda slow at first, but it picks up really nice. It's challenging enough to be interesting without be frustrating. It's shooting mechanics are pretty engaging, and manage to be different without being completely alien. Both the stealth and the action are pretty well balanced and you can pretty much develop your own way to play, with a lot of room for experimentation. The level design is always throwing something new in the mix, with environments that at first seem to be the same, but with something new to spice up things a little. It starts up like a bland game, but it grows on you pretty nicely. It's a little great game that anyone that enjoys good solid action should play.
