Holy hell did this game need to bake for longer. RPG lite options that do not actually mean anything, skill trees that have worthless (and broken) nodes, little QA testing. Who has a mini map that doesn't zoom out while driving at 100+km\hr so you know when you need to make a turn before it pops up? Crafting is bolted on and was causing save game corruption due to it saving the entire world state and your crafting history in it. And limited it to 8 MB. Where’s the sanity in that? Surely, they knew that’d cause issues. The skill tree does add options to combat, however I’m reasonably sure that you could finish the game without much difficulty by ignoring it entirely. I could tolerate the launch messes that were the Witcher games and CDPR had the good will to know they will fix it, but this game is several magnitudes worse. I’m dubious if they’ll get the game to a level of polish that it should have before calling it done and moving on. Those with limited bandwidth: Patches thus far are 4x the initial install size and while addresses hundreds of bugs, has barely scratched the surface. There’s a reason MS and Sony removed it from their stores and issued no questions asked refunds. Wait until they think things are solid enough before purchasing as you’ll get a far better experience. If you have a beefy system and can turn on all the eye candy you’ll get a fantastic looking mediocre game.
The game lifts it's mechanics straight from Fallout 1\2, which given modern gameplay design these days... Isn't fantastic. Replay fallout 1 or 2 and see if you can tolerate it before getting this game. One said mechanic is the magic sight all the NPCS have. Kill someone in a isolated area of the map, everyone and everything goes hostile and comes to hunt you down. Makes sense in a city street. But when after spending time breaking into a secured bunker and killing its occupants, the entire city above it should not know what I did and try to hunt me down. I also found as you progress in the game, the enemies become more bullet spongey, which in turn made fights even more tedious than they should be. Admittedly that may have been my gear more than anything.
