The engine do these games justice. The remixed soundtrack goes strong. I can't wait to replay everything and delve into the new stuff. Thank you to whoever decided to honor my previous purchase of Heretic and Hexen. Yes, I have the GZDoom HDed versions too, but the attention from the developers after all these years demands attention. Get it if you haven't enjoyed the classics yet.
Combat is Robocop brutal. I enjoy doing the side quests - it gives more depth to the character. The dialogs are cheezy, but it's satisfying to earn the public's trust in the small decisions I make talking to people. All in all, a lovingly made game with a good feel about it.
From todays perspective, one of the best story-driven first-person shooters of the 2010s.
First time playing it seriously, and I like the stories in this game. They don't feel like daunting tasks in an "open world" to grind your way through, but as a fully fleshed out world you could come back without knowing exactly what would happen to you next. And the [exceptionally well optimized] ray-traced next gen version looks drop dead gorgeous on an AMD GPU with a little help from FSR, thank goodness.
