Summary: I enjoyed Rance01 much more Rance02. I am okay with supporting the dev. with my money for bringing the start of the Rance story ark to gog.com and paying for their work to translate it to English but even $15.00 seems a bit too much for these old games. I found gameplay of these old games rather boring. (&no animations) Rance01. There is way too much "grinding" to find what you need to do in the game. The game does a bad job of giving you hints of where to do. Having to back to old options again & again to see if get something different is super boring. I get that it is an old game, but I that old school "game play" was very annoying for me. I also found the music rather boring after a while. By "game play" you go around to talk to people in the area at different times or else go a fighting area. I found the combat rather boring. It is very easy to pass by the "content" you are looking for. Great if are making the game so that people have to replay stuff... but I honestly dont want to have to go through the game again to see the stuff I missed. Rance02. It's very short though, so it's not like you have to suffer a lot. Overall, definitely not the best in the series, but it's actually kinda alright. It has it's good moments for a short Rance game. ... Still bit of let down because I was expecting a game as long as Rance01. All in all, I am happy that I was able to play these games legally. But I still think they are charging way too much for these games. FYI> All of the sex stuff is not animated. So please hold back your high expectations. Both of the games do NOT display the game in a widescreen format. I found this more annoying than I thought it would be. I wish I had skipped these games and just started with Rance VI + 5D.
I had a lot of fun with this game, Works great on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Loved the music for the game. Has some good replay value if you are tryign to speedrun / get a better score for it.
