Cyberpunk 2077

Still worth playing and much potential

As of Hotfix 1.12 this game gets a good 3 stars from mem 4 should be easily achievable with patches, and there's potential for 5 even if CDPR goes out of their way with a truly enhanced version. First off, I was positively surprised the game ran very good on my ancient RX580 - even in 1440p if you're in for the story and can live with stable 30-40 fps, but don't hesitate for Full HD. Search for some optimization guide, turn down the settings that affect FPS most, maybe play a bit with Dynamic resolution scaling and you're good and don't have to vomit on the screen - I was at somewhat medium-ish settings and the game still looks fantastic. I haven't encountered any showstopping bugs, a few times I had to reload but it's nothing I haven't seen from other games 3 months after launch. Good things: I really loved the story and presentation, this alone is absolutely worth your money. The main NPCs are simply awesome, voice acting, mocap - super believale and you'll love the characters. Even Keanu, who I think was well cast. The storyline has a lot to offer and to think about, it has a somewhat gloomy, sometimes depressing atmosphere and can get quite emotional. I haven't been touched by a game this much for quite a while, and a lot of it is open for your very own interpretation. What doesn't work is the pacing within the open world. This could've been easily avoided and I'd go so far to suggest a rewrite. Your "Silverhand problem" comes way too soon, and the whole open world activity totally throws you out of the immersion when you know you have a more serious problem to deal with. It could've been avoided, just make V learn much later that they have a life threating problem, so they have enough time to follow their original dream first and start worrying in Act 3. The open world and boring gigs are the culprit. The braindead AI MUST be fixed, police etc - and then please fill in more meaningful jobs. Night City is awesome, but needs more immersive content.
