I've been playing this with a six year old girl my partner and I watch after sometimes. It's one of the few games that she can manage with me easily thanks to different game play modifications which and be ticked on and off easily like 'Unlimited Lives' and 'Quick Health Regen.' Also one of the rarer titles nowadays that is choc-full of secrets. This is a must have if you have others in the household who play on the computer with you. Also check out Dungeonland.
Tried with both D-Input and X-Input controls. The D-Pad just simply doesn't work sending the player scrambling for the # keys on the keyboard at which point turns control over to keyboard all together. Also considering several annoying bugs within the first ten minutes of play I can't merit crouching uncomfortably over my desk and cramping my hand on the keyboard when there are MANY Triple A games like Skyrim that I would like to experience before I'm dead. My Rating / Waste of $7.50
I've sampled a few hours of each of the Wizardry's in the past and the last two games in the series not only made Might & Magic obsolete but I have to admit I enjoyed them much more than even Morrowind & Oblivion... ...thus standing true to the statement that graphics don't necessarily make the game. The last two Wizardys feature much more content, less empty wandering and fair but difficult battles that followed a much less sloppier template than the above-mentioned.
Had this for PS2 many many moons ago. I remember returning the game because I was sorely disappointed in it. If I can recall the God/Flood scenes took for frickin' ever and you couldn't skip past them and (this is the bit I'm foggy about) some games would never end because you could not get to the last enemy worm. Neutral vote from me for now until someone can confirm the PC version to be a massive improvement.
It's just another Street Fighter with new characters and moves added so nothing ground breaking to report but it is a much desperately needed fighting game for a platform that is horribly lacking in Fighters. I never realized this ever existed for PC but glad to see GOG make it available.
I acquired this back around the time it first came out...forgot I had it and then lost it. Acquired it again last year and forgot about it again. I've given full stars for originality and colorful aesthetic appeal. You might experience some horrible sound distortion but I managed to fix mine through trying past operating system emulation in Compatibility mode (Found in Properties on the context menu accessed by right clicking the game's executable or shortcut.).
I've only played fifteen minutes of the game so can't give a fair rating but wanted to comment here that I managed the get the game running smoothly on my rig: AMD Athlon 2400+ Single Core SSE 1 Gig DDR RAM Win XP SP3 32-bit nVidia GeForce 7300 GT 512MB My video options in-game were: 1024x768 Textures Medium Texture Filtering Low Shadows Low and the final option completely off (some fancy graphics feature) The rest I left at default.
Be warned that even despite the community patch Gothic 3 is very finicky about what rigs it will run on. It can even be a slide show on high end computers if it doesn't like your setup. The Community Patch really does wonders for this title. I was able to play the first twenty minutes of the Steam version before giving up with the poor performance and can say that if you can get it to run, it is even better than newer Gothic released like Risen. On a side note: The epilogue release to Gothic 3 - "Forsaken Gods" looks and works near perfect with it's most recent update and modification.
Now please please please hurry and get the second one in here too. For folks wondering what this is it is very hardy to compare game play to anything else out there but has an over all Zelda-Type feel to it. This is the best add to GoG since Arcanum.
First off, just to get this out of the way this is an awesome game even if for the simple fact that the 3D RTS battles that take place on some planets allow you to directly control your units in third-person mode while you're other, previously commanded, units also go into battle with you. Here's the thing, however - I own a hard copy of Space Rangers 2 "Reboot." Reboot is an enhanced version of Space Rangers 2 that also includes Space Rangers One. So what is "Dominators"? Is this title for "Reboot" in North America? Is this an even more enhanced version than Reboot or is this just the name that was assigned to the original Space Rangers 2? I love GoG and this is a good deal but I encourage both you and GoG to do some research on this.
