Imperialism

A little Gem

I've bought it almost 30 years ago so far.... Little challenging gem, with simple but really enjoyable graphics (i mean there are no awful pixelled things round there though it was windows 95 age...), lovely musics and artworks by 19th century English painters like Turner... I know i sound nostalgic, but maybe lack of resources forced developers to be original.. but i see nothing comparable to imperialism round here nowadays... alas gog doesn't provide italian version of it, but still if you enjoy strategics, have a try: it's worth it

Caesar II

My fav

I played it decades ago and still this is my favourite of all the ceasar, pharao, Zeus, etc etc series. It takes you on two management levels: town and province. Province lets you deal with barbarians, invasions, etc and, the thing I appreciate most, units ain't limited to heavy and light infantry, while you have a plethora of auxiliar units... Have fun

Hard West

Stay clear of it

I confess i had some expectations about this game: i didn't think it could be a masterpiece... but... i hoped i could find something good in it I doìn't like it: silly simple gameplay, absurd plot, with nonsense great end... I'm no big fan of jagged aliance and other tactical shoot-outs...but.. really ... soldiers at war (1998) and those old ufo/x-com series offer really much more sophisticated combats and more cunning challenges
