No Man's Sky

Fresh take on survival, crashes too much

The pros: > Fresh take on survival/crafting. 3d minecraft in space, if you will, with some realism. > While initially complex and complicated, the menus and UI are good once you get used to them. > There's a LOT of good bones in this game. There is a lot of potential for quality mods or even paid DLC. > There's hours and hours and hours of stuff to do. If you get bored, it's your own fault. The cons: > It's poorly optimized. Frames drop, textures go muddy and blocky, and pop-in occurs sometimes. > This game crashes ALL THE TIME! I can't tell you how many times I've been in the middle of excavating an ancient ruin, deep in the wilderness grabbing all the resources I can get my hands on, or otherwise away from a save station for awhile... and with no auto-save, it's really aggrevating when this happens you've been hours between saves. > While the menus and UI are good, controls could be better. It's definitely meant for a controller. I guess if you have a controller, you should be fine with controls... but I'm a keyboard and mouse kind of dude. The gyst: Have back stock of save stations with you so you can drop them every 15 minutes so you don't lose too much progress. This game would be a 4 out 5 if it weren't for all. the. crashing!
