Rough start, nice end

was bad. now good. even better with mods

Fate Hunters

Promising but unbalanced

I can't say I hate this game or that it's terrible, but it suprisingly delivers no fun. The only good things that it has is art style and some general ideas. But that's not enough to make a good game. I'll put a list of downsides: - balancing issues: rng in this game is untransparent and sometimes infuriating. You can basically steamroll three dungeon floors and die on the third boss because your card build is comepletely ineffective against it. Moreover, inability to discard loot cards from hand looks like some major oversight. - nonexistent deckbuilding. everything is rng - your level up skills, loot drops, passive skills line-up (I've got a set of 3 passives that I didn't like, tried to re-roll them and got 2 of them again), debuffs - and you don't have any control over it at all. - unclear mechanics - it sometimes hard to understand what effect your card will actually perform, cause description is some kind of gibberish mess. - lack of Tutorials and bad UX. No tutorials on important mechanics like Fate Points, debuffs etc. No map or at least some indicator which will show how many rooms you've passed and how many remains to the boss|exit. Hope this game will be updated in future, coz it has some great potential, but right now it's rather "get on -75% or avoid entirely".

Hollow Knight

it's actually 3,5 and here is why

It's a very good platformer, with cute bug-knight, lovely singing miner and catterpillars. But there are some minor issues, that force me to put 4 ('cause no 3,5 option) and irritate during play. The first and the most - tech issues. FPS drops on currency pick-ups, on hit etc. It's kinda weird to get a huge fps drop when you pick up more than 20+ coins (not to mention that coins tend to fly through your character and drop to places you'll never get them). The second issue is the most irritating - trashy foreground. I've never seen any platformer before, that makes monster almost invisible in all this decorative (and unnecessary) mess. The smaller the monster, the harder it is to spot it. The third issue - gameplay tend to become more tight and boring as soon as you get the "rules" of the world - I'm in something like 8+ hours in the game and I'm already tired of killing the same monsters and chosing the only aviable paths - 'cause there are roots you just cannot take. You just don't have the necessary skill, so yes - backtracking. And bosses. Well, the look cute, but are boring and plane. But, the game is still pretty fun. I can reccomend it, if you're tired of Shovel Knight and Rogue Legacy. It's quite a game with a special petty soul in it, which will tempt you to see, what that bugs are all about.
