quality gameplay. well spaced out metroidvania that encourages exploration and returning to prior areas with new abilities in hand. varied music I wouldn't mind outside this context. later areas cannot be steamrolled and do require some level of skill. story is interesting enough and the characters do have their own level of charm that makes them memorable. I hate it.
While it is blatant propaganda if you strip it down to its base components it's a solid beat em up. don't expect the triple a slog made to eat your attention for life its a skill based game with some challenges that naturally reward good work. Mechanics are simple to understand and are intuitively introduced. I'll never politically agree with the developers but they've made a solid foundation of gameplay that can excuse any story to it. The limo level was torture though maybe a grace of one or two hits before catapulting the score marker fighters through the windshield? Just never been a fan of blind perfection levels.
