Wizardry 8 was the last game made by Sir-Tek and technically the last Wizardry game if one were to simply go by the main series, not counting all the spin-offs made by Japanese game developers. Being the last chapter in the Dark Savant Trilogy, Wizardry 8 goes all out in making its story one where you're party is not only there to stop the Dark Savant, it's also becoming the Cosmic Lords of the universe. Gameplay can be switched between turn-based and a sort of real time. Enemies are highly varied from simple slimes and human bandits to androids and space rhinos with muskets to skeletal death lords and giant winged serpents. Character creation offers many races with different classes to choose from and even different voice personality types, allowing players to build parties to their own liking, the only limit being what they can try to accomplish with said party. For those that enjoy CRPG's, Wizardry 8 is one of the games one can not miss.
In my opinion one of the best Build Engine games, more so than Shadow Warrior and Duke Nukem 3D. Where as the previous two respectively focus on East Asian media references and action movie references respectively, Blood focuses more on horror based references. The protagonist differs from the previous two in that you are a complete anti-hero whose quest is solely motivated on revenge against your former master. Like Duke and Lo-Wang, Caleb has his own memorable quotes, some being in reference to pop culture. If you enjoyed Duke Nukem 3D or Shadow Warrior, you'll likely enjoy Blood and its expansion packs.
If you played the previous games, you'll notice the protagonist in this game is different. Gun play is nowhere as fun as its predecessors. The only reason one would buy this is either to simply have all the SoF games or to see just how bad the game is.
