Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Enhanced Plus Edition

Excellent for what it is

Ok folks, after enough hours spent playing this game to make me wonder about the priorities in my life I can honestly say that I'm a big fan of this game. As of March of 2022, I have not seen any of the bugs people have run into since release. Therefore you can relax as far as that goes. If you like party based CRPGs, like fantasy settings, and are willing to put in the time to learn the rules that govern the game, then this is a rewarding experience. The story isn't mind blowing, but it's interesting enough to keep you interested even during replays. The inter-party dialog is "bantery" and at times genuinely amusing. There is a huge variety of races and classes so you won't have any problems finding a playstyle that suits you. Personally I'm a fan of reducing your enemies into a fine red mist up close and personal like, but if you prefer spell casters, healer/support, or sneaky/stabby types then there are plenty of options. Here's a tip for first time players: use turn-based combat mode until you understand the underlying mechanics of combat. It makes learning the intricacies of the game mechanics MUCH easier. Most classes are fairly easy to figure out, but some have abilities that are easier to understand when you see how each action/spell/ability fits with the action economy (at least I found that to be true, but I could just be an idiot). If you are a fan of Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, and games like that then Kingmaker will be a rewarding experience for you. Besides, supporting small game studios really helps the gaming industry as a whole and provides more options for people like me who dislike most of the games the big (not to mention corrupt, greedy, and over-hyped) studios are cranking out. Kingmaker was clearly not made in a cookie-cutter fashion and is obviously a passion project for the devs instead of just a job.
