I never played this when it was first released but one of my best friends did and he always reved about how good it was. I bought it here on GOG and when my main PC HD went down I had to resort to occaisional gaming on my laptop. I figured I would give it a try. I really enjoyed it. Once I got used to the mechanics it became a great sandbox of how to take down squads of soldiers and steathily clean up the bodies. This game still holds up well and is worth a play.
I have played all the STALKER games and love the franchise. STALKER 2 is amazing and I want to give it 5 stars but since the 1.1 major update it keeps freezing while compiling shaders and often crashes. Sometimes if I delete the shader cache via the Disk Cleanup tool it will then work, sometimes I have to do that and then restart GOG and it will work, and sometimes I have to restart my PC, sometimes nothing gets it to work. Right now nothing gets it to work so I am leaving this 2 star review, that I wish was a 5 star review. I have had to uninstall and reinstall STALKER 2 twice since the 1.1 update and now it looks like I will be doing it for a 3rd time.
