I bought the game pre-release as I was so excited to be playing another CD Projekt Red game, following the amazing Witcher 3. I have been a fan of CDPR since the 1st Witcher and they never let me down. Cyberpunk 2077s initial release was disappointing. Not as horrific as others were reporting but disappointing. The potential was there though. Fast forward to 2024 and I have finally finished the game with the latest patches, no mods, and - WOW! Gameplay The gameplay and level-up makes sense, you can feel the stats actually having an impact on gameplay. Admittedly, Deus Ex and some other immersive sims have done it better, the gun/sword play is much improved. As with most RPGs, I did get to the max level and I could just walk up to all the enemies and one-shot them in the head - too easy, but that's power for you! Graphics On inital release I was one of the many that suffered graphical glitches. Now with the game all patched I have to say it looks gorgeous. The world of Night City and the Badlands are mesmerising and I can't wait to see what the sequel looks like in Unreal Engine. There is still some screen-tearing in places and some flat textures but overall main character models and the world looks stunning. RPG comparison I hope no one compares Cyberpunk to isometric RPGs like Baldurs Gate, Divinity etc as those are a completely different RPGs. Cyberpunk is more in line with the Deux Ex and Dishonored series. You can approach situations in different ways but the system isn't nearly as indepth as either of the aforementioned series. What makes up for it, I think, is once more the great writing of CDPR as the choices you make talking to characters makes V go a long way to feeling like a character you have shaped. Overall I have loved my time with Cyberpunk and recommend it to any RPG lover. Is it worth a replay in the future? For me no. The storyline doesn't branch enough and there isn't enough character options to warrant another run through for me.
