Using GameHub on Ubuntu, I was able to easily install and run XIII using Proton 5.0 without any additional tweaking. This may also work with Proton by adding the executable to Steam and force it that way, but GameHub had no issue in downloading and running it!
When playing the native Linux version of this game, it ran way too fast and I had to take some extra steps to get it to run normally. Here's what I did on an Ubuntu 19.10 machine: Installed libstrangle at the system level (had to build from source at https://gitlab.com/torkel104/libstrangle) and after modifying the start.sh for Samurai Shodown 2, I was able to get the game speed running correctly at 60 FPS in two different ways: 1. Replace the existing ./"SamuraiShodown2" command with strangle 60 ./"SamuraiShodown2" 2. Add these lines to the file: export FPS=60 LD_PRELOAD="libstrangle.so:${LD_PRELOAD}" ./"SamuraiShodown2" Note: I installed libstrangle at the system level as this was helpful for other SNK Linux ports that had this speed issue like NEO TURF MASTERS.

F10 for options and F1 to start with F2 to add 2nd player. GOG needs to add the original manual or else it is confusing on where to begin. Otherwise, an uncensored version with a lot of charm that can shine if you know your way around a DOSBox config. Best played with a keyboard.

There are many DOSBox games on GOG that have a Linux version available. Where is it GOG?
