Excellent idea in this game: we start as an old RPG from the eighties, in black and white and pixels, and step by step, we unlock evolutions: colours, HD graphics, musics, etc. But I think this mechanic could be used more than that. Maybe the second title does it better.
I'm very nostalgic of old beat'em all like Streets of Rage, but Final Vendetta didn't gave me similar feelings. The pixel art is not very beautiful, the gameplay not pleasant, especially about hitboxes (sometimes, your attacks don't touch an enemy, but its attacks touch you!), and the game is very short (20 minutes to finish it). The only excellent point is the musics, typically in the style of Yuzo Koshiro (Streets of Rage).
