Crysis®

Still a must have for PC Gamers

Crysis continues to be a fantastic piece of history of PC gaming. The game is beautiful, and will probably run great on most pc nowadays. Gameplay is also really good, though the second half of the game is not as good as the first half. (the switch from being a predator, to being the prey is very jarring, and it's an issue that i disliked in every single Crysis game. Now for the GOG version, the game will run out of the box (which is good, the other versions usually required you to patch the game to even get the game to launch). However I still needed to download 3rd party files in order to remove the 50fps cap that the game has with Vsync turned on while playing on DX10 mode. Not a big deal, but if for those who have the same issue i did, check the PCGamingWiki page for the game to get the fix.

Being a DIK - Season 2

Still an excelent adult visual novel

A very well done continuation of the story. The story has more branches, more consequences, including some quite unexpected ones. The devs added a bit more to the gameplay this time with some additional minigames, all were in my opinion fairly welcome, with the only exception of the collor matching minigame, that one gets dull fairly quick, and there is no real incentive to keep playing beyond the required amount for the $ reward. One minigame that i'm not a particularly fan of is find the hidden object, this was part of Season 1, but they went all out in Season 2, to the point where you basically looking for pixels on the screen, I really hope that in the next season they cut that stuff down a bit, because hunting for pixels is not an enjoyable experience in my opinion But the minigame that i thought was the most interesting (and perhaps the one with the biggest potential for the future) was the management minigame, that one genuinely sparked my interested and i found myself looking forward to do it whenever it was available. I hope they improve upon that minigame for the future seasons. They added a few more music tracks, and i have to say that the music is kinda growing on me, not my particular type of music, but good enough to enjoy it. Minor crticism towards the story: I'm slightly worried about the path the story is taking, it's venturing from a fairly comedic story to maybe a pretty dark one. I'm sure a lot will depend on the players choices for the future episodes, but i'm still a bit worried with all the hints the game was giving throughout season 2, a lot of those hints painted a very disturbing picture.

Being a DIK - Season 1

Surprisingly good!

The game genuinely surprised me. I purchased with fairly low expectations, and though my initial impression vindicated those expectations, the more i played it the more i enjoyed it. I found the story to be competent, and for the most part well written. Same for the dialogue, well written, and quite funny at times, which is good because a game with such a heavy emphasis on adult content i think works best with a heavy dose of comedy attached to it its plots. Gameplay wise it's a fairly simple visual novel, but with some fairly enjoyable minigames. Game music was decent, but when it comes to audio, one issue i have is that it would be really nice if they could incorporated a little bit more ambient noise to the game, like for example, the scenes in the Library are often dead silent, no music, which i guess makes sense, but it would be nice to at least have some very subtle ambient noise of whispers and such, i'm sure the developers could have licensed some recorded audio of what a Library should sound like and insert into the game for those sections. Visual quality is decent, though i find the character models to often breach into the realm of uncanny valley feeling, some characters look fairly realistic, while others look like they are suffering from a severe case of dehydration, so yeah mixed bag, and those issues stand out especially when the characters are of such high definition but their background are often super low definition. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the enviromental assets were straight up purchased from an asset store because they are so generic and have so much variation in their quality. One minor critcisim, the developers went out of their way to insult certain groups of people. They could have tone it down some of the stereotypes they used, and with the strawmaning of so many political arguments, they ocasioanlly said something meaningfull, but those were rare exceptions, a lot of it just felt unnecessary for the plot.
